    Great Posting,

    I notice an important thing:

Roman keeps going back to the corners of Western Ukraine, and not accepting the challenges of eastern Ukraine.

And, even in summer he wants to go swimming. As you may recall his winter and ice water dip.

One might accept the call of his heritage as being in Western Ukraine. But, I suggest that he has not fully explored other possibilities. Since he has strong desire to dip in water what about the Danube and the Dniester. I would especially point out that the Danube is on the fringe of Ukraine.

This call of the Carpathians has become obsession. Where are the visits to coast of the Black Sea? Sea of Azov? Maybe a DNA analysis will more likely show a southern genealogy. And of course what if his origins are Eastern Ukraine?

Understand that many parts of eastern Ukraine were purged of native Ukrainians by the Holodomor… Maybe a look toward the Seversky Donets?

So where is the visit to the southern parts of the Dnepr River. Where is his visit to the island with the cossack heritage in the Dnepr.

Thesevacations in the mountains while refreshing fail to raise the horizons… Looking under the same rocks one only finds the same insects.

“Greatness is not in where we stand, but in what direction we are moving. We must sail sometimes with the wind and sometimes against it—but sail we must and not drift, nor lie at anchor.” —Oliver Wendell Holmes
