      IMO opinion he is a fantastic historian who, typical of an academic, has an enormous bias toward liberal democracy.

      Origin of Political Order is one of the best books I’ve ever read, but as I’ve recommended to others: ignore Fukuyama’s conclusions (and all of Chapter 2). Just pay attention to the evidence he presents. Even his lines of causality seem sound. It’s like he does all the work, and then at the last step says that liberal democracy is the end of history (something he actually did say earlier in his career). Ignore that last step. The rest is phenomenal.
