Aided by pro-Russian forces inside Crimea, Russia’s strong-arm takeover of the region this year brought with it the draconian antigay law signed by President Vladimir Putin that forbids promotion of “homosexual propaganda” to minors. Along with the law has come fear and violence for LGBT Crimeans.

So I don’t know if it’s a coincidence, but I posed three pro-ukrainian articles and made some comments on RT web sites, and almost immediately the webserver logs were filled with streams of IP addresses from Russia trying to hack the server, and then they just overloaded it, and took it down.

Caucus Battalion fighting FOR Ukraine

It seems that aside from the notorious Chechen mercenaries who, aside from fighting Ukraine seem to have served as the enforcers among the various groups of irregular Russian mercenaries, there is now a battalion fighting for Ukraine.

I know there must be more to Chechnya than the pro-Russian mercenaries. In their war for separatism, between 75,000 and 250,000 civilians were killed. Despite the seeming control Russia has over them, they must be teeming with resentment.

Russia Said To Be Creating Citizen Patrols To Prevent Another ‘Maidan’

Anyone thinking about bringing the Maidan to Russia, beware! Citizen patrols are one step ahead of you.

Volunteer groups are reportedly being formed in some Russian regions to help authorities stave off the type of regime change led in part by the Maidan movement in Ukraine, named after the central Kyiv square that was the focal point of antigovernment protests starting last November.

The “anti-Maidan” volunteer groups will reportedly consist of 10 members each and will have a foreman to lead the group.

The volunteer groups are being set up by the newly established Anti-Maidan Council, a body that brings together veterans of Russian military and special forces, activists, and representatives of the Orthodox Church community.
