@ 8:20 — Mysterious information about the snipers. New coalition doesn’t want to investigate this.

Paet: “All the evidence shows that people who were killed by snipers from both sides, policemen and people from the streets, that they were the same snipers killing people from both sides. … Some photos that showed it is the same handwriting, the same type of bullets, and it is really disturbing that now the new coalition they don’t want to investigate what exactly happened. So there is now stronger and stronger understanding that behind the snipers, it was not Yanukovych, but it was somebody from the new coalition.”

Ashton: “I think we do want to investigate. I mean, I didn’t pick that up, that’s interesting. Gosh.”

My take:

It’s certainly alarming– The possibility that the snipers were instigators either from the opposition or the New World Order.

It’s unlikely / unimportant for two reasons:

1) Even before the snipers started their horrible killing, the regime already killed protesters, kidnapped them from hospitals, and resorted to many hooligan tactics.

2) This late in the protests, both sides had guns. So it’s possible that protesters were shooting police with the same types of weapons that police were using against the protesters.

The Ukrainian military forces are demonstrating extraordinary impregnability. And these are not idle words. Today, according to Saimon Shuster, reporter of Time, an unarmed column of half of the unit troops, under two flags – red (battle flag of the unit?) and the national Ukrainian flag, tried to break through to the plane runways, occupied a day before by the Russian troops. While they approached the Russian block-post, the Russians started to fire into the air. Though, the Ukrainians proceeded. After the negotiations of the unit commander colonel Igor Mamchur with the Russian officer, some Ukrainian soldiers managed to occupy the planned positions. All of the time they were under the sights of the Russian guns. Western journalists have already named events in Belbek the most impressive confrontation, seen in Crimea so far.

From the Russian point of few —
1. Bad training if the soldier is holding his gun gangster style 2. Soldiers need less than lethal means for crowd control and occupation in general. Rolls of concertina wire would have helped them. I faced this situation many times during my military career.

I’m curious how they break down demographically. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this view common among the older crowd who think the collapse of the Soviet Union was a tragedy.

Ukraine would probably be better off without these regions. They seem to be the most corrupt and the centers of Ukraine’s mafia clans.

“Trip report in Ternopil.

The first and most important thing I want to note, despite the fact that I am a representative of a country which almost declared war (and now everyone thinks that announced), despite the fact that I’m English and don’t use Ukrainian language in communicating with local people. Despite the fact that I spoke and approached as to ordinary people and to Bandera, and the police, and to UNA UNSO and the Right sector. Despite all these factors, I have never insulted and made no attempt to answer any one of the interlocutors. No one ever spoke against the Russians. The only ones who have it against the authorities of Russia who lead an aggressive policy towards Ukraine. Even more I was amazed that people including Banderas behaved very polite in talking with me, asked about the life of Russians in the RUSSIAN FEDERATION, and asked to convey Russians that no one here is not to harass the Russians and even not going.

At the same time, my photos have appeared on the page “Antimajdan” with the comment “banderovec and disgrace Russia” and I write in lichku to dozens of people in my homeland with threats and insults. Call me a traitor, and all this why? I really did something bad Russian or Russia? I kind of like took part in organizing a variety of useful for Russian events. Continue to look for rusofobov I am not going in Ukraine, I was finally convinced that this myth hyped by politicians.

Ukrainian Naval Commander Defects

I think all but the most naive Ukrainians have long assumed the military was completely infiltrated by Russian intelligence, so this headline is probably more shocking to westerners.
